On the 8th of January 1947, the University of Rajputana appeared like a little star on the educational horizon of pre-independent India. That little star, now called the University of Rajasthan is shining "like a diamond in the sky." Having acquired the status of University with Potential for Excellence. University of Rajasthan is a state university and is one of the oldest universities in the Indian state Rajasthan, located in the city Jaipur. It was given its current name in the year 1956. University Central campus is spread over 338.14 acres. The satellite campus comprising the constituent Colleges, is spread over 138.21 acres. From National Highway 8: 8: Which connects Jaipur to Delhi, Ajmer, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Mumbai one can reach to Sindhi Camp Bus stand. From Sindhi camp which is 8-10 kms away from university campus. One can also get prepaid taxi’s too for the university campus
From National Highway 11: Which connects Agra-Jaipur-Bikaner one can reach to Sindhi Camp Bus stand. From Sindhi camp which is 10 kms away from university campus.
From National Highway 12:Which connects Jabalpur-Bhopal-Khilchipur-Aklera-Jhalawar-Kota-Bundi-Devli-Tonk-Jaipur. One can reach to Sindhi Camp Bus stand.

Train: Indian railways connect Jaipur to almost all major cities of the country. There are three stops close to university: one on Durgapura, about 5 kms from university, from where one can hire a taxi, another at GhandhiNagar railway station, 2 km away, one can hire a taxi to reach university. The main railway station is about 11 kms from university.

The Soft Materials Research Society (SMRS) is an interdisciplinary society dedicated to the field of soft materials to draw a roadmap for futuristic studies in this important discipline that amalgamates different facets of physics, chemistry, biology and engineering. The Society is committed to stimulate and integrate research in the field of soft materials for rapid industrial progress in the country.
It was formed during ICSM 2014 with a view to provide a forum for stimulating research and disseminating information on soft materials and promote soft materials not only to researchers in India, but also to publicise the niche capabilities of local researchers throughout Asia and further a field. So far the major activity of SMRS’s were organizing biannual events - the International Conference on Soft Materials (ICSM) in 2014/2016/2018/2020 and National Conference on Nanomaterials in Biology (NCNB) in 2019.
As the Society matures it plans to expand its activities through: organization of smaller, specialist conferences/seminars/workshops.
